Tortellini Gorgonzola

Do I have your attention now? I thought so...

Beyond an inability to spell it without double checking the menu, what's not to love about Tortellini Gorgonzola? Especially when you add grilled chicken.

Well, if you happen to be so lucky as to live in hmm visit Plattsburgh, NY. You can stop by Livingood's in downtown Plattsburgh (yes, it has a downtown) for some great Tortellini Gorgonzola (I say chip in the $4 bucks and spring for some grilled chicken with it).

The thick, creamy sauce really sets off the rich, robust flavor of the Gorgonzola, and who doesn't love Tortellini...they're like little gift wrapped, twisted up pasta pretzels of love...filled with cheese. Duh.

Now, I'll be the first to say, this entire meal experience was made better by a few factors.

1. I didn't have to pay.
2. I started dinner with a Pompolitan (ok...two, but Piper made me drink the second one...arm twisting, etc. Brutal).
3. I was enjoying the dinner with new friends.
4. I didn't have to feel guilty that I stole what someone else ordered (long story, different entry).

Livingood's has a large menu, with some great antipasto appetizers, delicious looking gourmet pizza's sized for one (with a few pieces left over for lunch tomorrow...or not if you're me, I'd eat the whole thing), a fairly nice menu of specialty martini's (even if a somewhat limited bar selection,). But that's ok...they have Pompolitan's, which is all you need to know.  Pomegranate Cosmopolitan, for anyone still curious.

While I would like to try other local faire when I am next in the area, I would also love to go back to Livingood's to sample more of the menu.

If I do, expect a follow-up entry about Plattsburgh, where I might even rave about Buffalo Chicken Pizza.

And to think...I spent a good (well, good in some ways)3 years up in the frozen wastes of Plattsburgh, and I've never heard of the place.

However, it was like 15 years ago, and I was in college living mostly on dining hall food and cheap/free booze, so maybe that's understandable.

Should I ever find myself back in that...wonderful....town, I'll make it a point to swing by this place!
